The Hometown Café story began in 1989 when Marsha's family moved from Los Angeles to seek a slower way of life. Marsha was raised in a farming area of the Chino Valley as a baby boomer. Farms turned into housing tracks, and a faster pace of life took over. Both Marsha and her mother became widows at a young age, and together they raised her children. With all the changes in Southern California, they were looking for a better quality of life. For all of them, Littlefork was just the place! Their very own small town. Their "hometown" for their next generation.
In November 1989 Marsha and her mother purchased a newer building located near the Littlefork River that was about a year old. The new business opened on November 2nd with a Hometown Café beginning! Marsha provided fast and friendly service in addition to healthy food choices. Most recipes were made from scratch; most sauces, soups, bread, cinnamon rolls, muffins and pies were homemade.
In 1990, the motel part of the business was purchased, and Hometown Café expanded with a new name: Hometown Café and Motel. Like the restaurant, the motel also underwent many updates over the years. The motel rooms were remodeled in 2000. In 2006, two new rooms were added along with a wrap-around porch; in 2008, two extra large rooms with porches were also added. Rooms are kept very clean and we use nothing but quality bedding. Everything is designed with a special homey touch!
"Come and enjoy the Northern Lights, stargazing, and so much more. Share a slow pace and a quiet, friendly area that still has a feel of the past." ~ Marsha
